In a world where everything feels like it is changing by the day, one thing that remains is our commitment to you and to supporting our key veterinary professionals.

We would just like to update you on the measures that we are taking at this difficult time in response to the COVID-19 crisis to ensure that our sector continues in its vital work.

Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of all. We have eliminated unnecessary contact in every part of what we do, as well as observing all of the social distancing and hygiene measures that the current circumstances require.

We are also ensuring that we continue to be ready and well placed to support you, your practices and, through you, your clients.

Service & Repairs:

Our Service Team still has operational cover across the UK and Ireland, in order to respond to your urgent equipment repair and maintenance needs.

Our Repair Centre is also still operational and will remain so unless couriers and delivery services cease to be available to collect and deliver your items.

Sales:

Our sales line and email inbox continue to be handled, such that we can support you with general enquiries, the placing of orders and in any other way that we can.

Warehouse:

Again, as long as delivery services remain active, so will we.

Alongside our normal activity, we continue to work with the NHS and care providers to assist wherever we can – with oxygen concentrators, service support and equipment distribution – with the national response to COVID-19.

As the UK Government escalates the response to COVID-19, it is our responsibility to act in a pragmatic and considerate manner, balancing the needs of the veterinary sector, business, and the wider population. We have taken several steps to ensure that we are doing our bit at Burtons, whilst upholding our offer to the veterinary community in this difficult time.

Our unrivaled nationwide fleet of service engineers remains on the road to respond to both your emergency callout and planned preventative maintenance visits. Our first aim, as always, is to keep your practice running by extending the lifetime of your equipment.

It is equally important, of course, to be reducing unnecessary visits to zero and in light of this, our sales team will be responding to requests for demonstrations, product specs and quotations remotely, whenever possible. All of our sales representatives are now available on Skype, using their @burtons.uk.com email addresses or work mobile numbers, as well as by the more traditional means of telephone and email contact. In addition, our sales and service coordination offices will still be available on the usual contact numbers, although our teams may be working from home. Our new, high-speed website is up and running at www.burtonsveterinary.com and, in lieu of seeing many of you at BSAVA Congress in April, our fully recyclable 2020 edition catalogue will be arriving with you shortly.

Importantly, at Burtons we have significant manufacturing capability here in the UK. We have offered some of this capacity to meet the national demand of the COVID-19 relief effort but otherwise remain certain of maintaining the stock of the highest quality Burtons-manufactured veterinary equipment. We also carry an extensive stock of a number of other products, although some will be in limited supply due to current human demand.

Finally, as a tightly knit family-run business, working in one of the most caring of sectors, we feel the strain of these difficult and uncertain times very personally. From all of us here at Burtons, we wish you well the coming weeks and months and will be on hand to assist you where possible.
