This is a cost effective and practical method of anaesthetic gas scavenging that can be easily installed without the need for specialist contractors. The extraction flow rate is set at the factory so no commission visit is required.
The Purair is designed to work with a single anaesthetic breathing system and will extract at a rate of 130lpm, as required in BS6834:1987. 130lpm may seem excessive but be reassured that most of this is taken from the room. The system is designed not to induce flow from the patients breathing system. Such a high rate of flow is required to ensure the system copes with all eventualities. For instance, change the mixture in your breathing system by squeezing the rebreathing bag. A 3 litre bag squeezed flat in 2 seconds produces a sudden flow rate of 90lpm, lesser scavenging systems would simply spill the waste gases into your working environment.
The system requires a 220/240v power socket and an exit route for the exhaust ducting to atmosphere (maximum of 6 metres from the unit).
