The APL valve also allows for accurate and controlled manual IPPV when required. Due to a re-design of the inner workings, the Cyclo-Flo can now be used with a Merlin Ventilator, without additional bags and tubing required.
Re-designed to provide even lower resistance than ever before, the Cyclo-Flo has been developed to be more economical. It is a circle breathing system that allows the inhalation of previously exhaled gases once the CO2 has been removed thus being more economical with the use of anaesthetic gases and volatile agents compared to non-rebreathing systems, this also reduces the impact of atmospheric pollution. Designed for use with small animals, it produces the minimum resistance possible – patient benefits of this include a reduction in the loss of body heat and respiratory moisture as the warmed and humidified anatomical dead space gases are re-used.
